More flooding hell is on the way for drenched Britain with 183 flood alerts posted for south of England and nearly three inches of rain set to fall tomorrow

  • This morning northern Scotland woke to -7C temperatures with up to 2.75 inches of rain on its way
  • Partial thaw of lying snow could also bring more flooding woes with possible transport disruption
  • The south is bracing itself for more wet weather, 183 flood alerts are in place along with 41 flood warnings

The UK is bracing itself for more wet weather with 183 flood alerts in place for the south and nearly three inches of rain predicted for Scotland.

This morning northern Scotland woke to -7C temperatures. 

Tomorrow a heavy band of rain is expected bringing with it up to 2.75 inches of rain in Scotland .Partial thaw of lying snow could also bring more flooding woes. 

One hundred and eighty three flood alerts are in place for the south of England and 41 flood warnings are in place.

There’s warnings bus and train services will probably affected with journey times taking longer with spray and flooding on roads probably making journey times longer. Flooding of a few homes and businesses is possible. 

For most of the country, Friday is forecast to be dry with spells of sunshine. 

However, there is a risk of showers in western areas, especially in south Wales and south-west England. Northern and western Scotland will be mostly cloudy. Central England will become cloudy after noon. Gentle winds

In the evening it will be dry with clear spells for most. However there will be patchy cloud and scattered showers in north-west Scotland, often wintry, especially over hills. Through the night a widespread frost will develop in the east. Cloudy in the west with patchy rain in Northern Ireland.

Saturday will be grey but mostly dry in England and Wales although there will be patchy rain later in north-western. Rain in Scotland and Northern Ireland, heavy later. Strengthening southerly winds. 

On Sunday, once any early rain clears, it will be bright with scattered showers. Moderate winds.
