A mother and step-father who were found dead at their home have been pictured for the first time today – as their son appears in court charged with their murder.
Jasbir Kaur, 52, and her husband Rupinder Singh Bassan, 51, were found dead from serious injuries at their semi-detached house in Oldbury, near Birmingham, on Tuesday.
Their son Anmol Chana, 25, appeared at Birmingham Magistrates’ Court today charged with murdering the couple between February 21 and 26 – meaning their bodies could have laid undiscovered for up to four days.

Mrs Kaur and her husband were found dead by police who entered the home at 4am after responding to a report of concern for their welfare.
Appearing in the court dock wearing a grey T-shirt, Chana, of Smethwick, West Midlands, spoke only to confirm his name, address and date of birth during a brief hearing.
District Judge David Wain remanded him in custody to appear at Birmingham Crown Court on March 2.

His appearance comes after the couple’s Toyota Aygo, which had disappeared from their home, was found on Wednesday morning in Smethwick after a member of the public responded to a West Midlands Police appeal to track down the car.
It will now be examined by forensic experts.
Det Insp Hannah Whitehouse, who is leading the investigation, said: ‘I’d like to thank people for the response to our appeal which has directly led us to recovering the car.
‘We’re continuing to support the family of Jasbir and Rupinder at this awful time.’
